My New Digital SLR Camera!

I'm am so excited to show you my new Digital SLR Camera. It is a Nikon D3100. This is an early anniversary gift from Justin. My camera came with two lenses: 18-55mm VR Zoom Nikkor and a 55-200mm VR Zoom-Nikkor. Yes, I even know what SLR stands for: Single-Lens Reflex. Now I am officially beginning a journey to learn about photography and integrate it with my passion for art. I will keep you posted on my progress!

more christmas pictures
mckayla's christmas 2010
For all the grandparents and great grandparents that have been waiting to see some pictures of Mckala's Christmas, here they are finally. My favorite part of Christmas morning was anticipating Mckayla's reaction to seeing what Santa had left for her. This was Mckayla's second Christmas and she understood more of the concept, which was fun! Her favorite toy was her barn with the farm animals.

Holiday Baking
This year I volunteered to make home made goody boxes for Justin's co-workers in his department at work. The task didn't seem too undaunting as I only needed to make 12 boxes of treats. The first day I set aside to make Christmas goodies I had my mom come over to my house. Somehow by the end of the day we hadn't made much progress. I stayed up late that night after my mom went home and got back on track. I guess I can't have any distractions while baking. Some of the things that I made included: chocolate peanut clusters, caramels, chocolate covered pretzels, ginger cookies, fudge, my great grandma's fruit bread, and homemade cheese balls. The cheese balls were really easy and fun to make. My neighbors got to enjoy those! Happy Baking!
