Baby Adelane

At the end of July we were blessed with baby girl #2: Adelane Lynn Humpherys, "Laney" for short. She weighed 6 lbs. 5 oz (even smaller than Mckayla). She turns 3 months old this week and she has been such a sweet blessing in our family. She has the calmest personality and is very good natured. Many people comment, "Is she always this good?" To which we honestly respond, "Yes!" She rarely cries, and if she does she is usually just hungry. Mckayla has loved being a big sister and is so good around her. She loves to talk to her, give her hugs, and loves to go say good morning to Laney first thing when she wakes up in the morning.

Mckayla's summer

June 28th: We took Mckayla to the Syracuse carnival. She loved the little tug boats the best, but didn't get any pictures of that. She went on a mini ferris wheel, giant slides, merry-go-round, and mini-dragon roller coaster.
Mckayla went swimming with her cousins on the 4th of July.

Baby Girl #2 Name

Well after considering what seemed like millions of names and not wanting to choose a vintage name that are all becoming really popular again we decided on the name for baby girl #2........drum roll................ Adelane. We will call her Laney for short. We want to give her a middle name, just haven't decided yet. Mckayla has a middle name, and I have loved having one myself, so we will figure something out for that. Check out the awesome vinyl lettering that Justin's friend at work and Decomod Walls on Etsy made for us: http://www.etsy.com/shop/decomodwalls

The Nursery

We are proud to display the completed nursery! Theme: Vintage. Check out those awesome burnt orange and yellow colors. The dressers were freebies from my grandpa. The floral print curtains really set the tone for the overall decor. This has been an ongoing project for some time now. It all started with full floor length wallpaper from the previous owners that we had to hand scrape off. Justin did all of that. He was such a trooper. Then he primed and repainted the room. I worked on sewing the crib quilt, curtains, and pillowcase. Together we easily put 70 plus hours into the room.

Nesting

I have had different spurts of energy to nest for baby girl #2. Some of the occasions were earlier on in the pregnancy when I stocked up on diapers and wipes. The latest includes organizing the nursery. My sister in law threw me a surprise baby shower. I was for sure surprised and loved it. My mom, sisters, mother in law, sister in laws (Holli, Nicky, and Rachelle), cousin, aunt, and friend all came. Thanks everyone! Here is my new diaper bag. I am in love with it. It's lime colored. Its all packed and ready to go to the hospital. This is the outfit I picked out for the baby to wear home from the hospital. The onesie will go under the romper. I can't believe how excited I have gotten over little baby stuff again. Here are some dresses that are hand me downs from Mckayla. These shoes are just adorable. They are so teeny. Newborn diapers are just adorable. They are so little.

Baby update

It's a girl. This week the doctor confirmed that we are having a baby girl. Mckayla is so excited to be getting a baby sister. I also had my targeted ultrasound where an ultrasound tech looks in depth at all the parts of the baby. She said everything looks not only normal, but beautiful. She said that baby weighs almost one pound. She is such an angel. We got to see her sweet face. She is beautiful. I haven't figured out how to get my ultrasound pics up on the blog. I will probably have to scan them. I don't have a scanner. Here are some pictures of my stomach growing. Yes my hair color is different in each picture. I'm trying to go back all the way blonde.

Random

What do we do during the week?
We usually have Jessica and her two boys over one day a week. Jace and Mckayla love to play together. Baby Riley usually hangs out in the baby swing. I plan meals for the week and go grocery shopping. I do chores around the house. I drive my mom places, since she can't drive. Two days a week I work while Mckayla goes and plays at the babysitter with Jaxson, Cooper, and baby Jules. Justin works full time and loves to play basketball with his Dad on the weekend. Usually one night a week I see clients and so Justin will take Mckayla somewhere fun to play and have dinner. Justin also goes to an activity one day a week with the Young Men in the ward. I teach Mckayla's sunbeam class in primary on Sunday. On weekends we love to entertain and have friends over for dinner. When I have spare time I love to bake treats or do something crafty. Here are some random pictures of things we have done lately.

Girl Hair Bows I made for a baby shower.
Rice Krispie Treat Bunnies we made for a family Sunday dinner.
This is what I made Justin for Valentines for him to put in the basement by our pool table. He loves this quote. I made the lettering with my Cricut machine.

New House

At the end of December we closed on our new house in East Layton. 3200 sq. feet and 6 bedrooms. We feel very blessed to have gotten a great deal on it and we hope this will be our forever house where we will raise our family. Justin was most excited for having a garage and a huge basement with a pool table. He has already had some competitions on it with his Dad. I love all the space and storage the house has. I also love the unique features the home has including vaulted ceilings in the family room with a fire place, built in captain beds in the basement, and a bay window dining nook that looks out into a beautiful forest looking backyard (reminds me of my childhood backyard growing up). The past few months have been very busy for us as we have decided to rent out our previous home. We are grateful for some people Justin works with that have rental homes that have given us guidance and direction in the process. We have now been in our new house for almost three weeks and it is starting to feel like home now!
